Warehouse and Transport Manager

Job Description:

Sovereign Foods is a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets and has operations in five provinces. The Commercial division is looking for individual to assume the responsibilities of Warehouse and Transport Manager. The Warehouse and Transport Manager will be responsible to deliver excellent service to both internal and external customers by means of proven logistical systems, within budgeted parameters, and daily communication to the various role players within the business. A tertiary qualification related to Logistics and or relevant field is required, as well as 5 years’ hands-on warehouse operations experience. This position carries a TASK grade of T13 and reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with sales department, customers, transporters and storage facilities.
• Plan, track and communicate all deliveries.
• Maintain Departmental cost management to within budget.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, Export regulations and HSE standards.
• Drive On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance.
• Maintain accurate monitoring of stock quality at points of transfer.
• Address non-conformances with transporters and storage facilities.
• Maintain accurate loading processes to enable the achievement of 100 % ordered vs delivered.
• Continuous identification and implementation of cost saving opportunities.
• Timeous processing of RFC’s.
• Lead, develop and manage warehouse teams and performance.
