Team Leader: Super Heating

Job Description:

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Team Leader: Super Heating for its Farm Services operations in the Agriculture division. The Team Leader: Super Heating is responsible for the efficient and timeous super heating of Broiler chicken houses This position reports to the Prep and Placement Supervisor and holds the TASK Grade T06. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a NQF level 4 certificate, a code 10 driver’s license with no endorsements, a PDP and transportation of dangerous goods permit and have 1 years’ supervisory experience, preferably in a poultry environment. A certificate in Transporting/safe handling of gas will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to daily production schedule as set out by Prep and Placement Supervisor and conduct daily meetings with team.
• Ensure that there is sufficient staff coverage on a daily basis in order to effectively and efficiently run the super heating operation.
• Communicate with / update Prep and Placement Supervisor on a regular basis on progress and report on any abnormalities.
• Maintain and manage documented, preventative maintenance program for all vehicles and equipment.
• Manage time and attendance system, staff numbers, allocation and absenteeism.
• Ensure super heating SOP’s are adhered to at all times.
• Make sure that biological risk control procedures are always adhered to by all staff.
• Enforce compliance with all safety requirements.
• Report any concerns to Prep and Placement Supervisor or Loss Control Manager immediately.
