Stock Controller

Job Description:

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Stock Controller for its Further Processing Plant operations in the Commercial division. The Stock Controller is responsible for the accurate recording of all stock movements. This position reports to the Materials Stores Controller and holds the TASK Grade T05. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a NQF 4 certificate and have 1 to 2 years’ experience in stock controlling within a FMCG environment. A valid Forklift license will be an added benefit.

Responsibilities:

• On receipt of stock, check that all products are within temperature and packaging specification.
• Report all non-conforming products without delay.
• Record, scan and report accurately on all stock received.
• Identify, record and control half pallets and damaged stock returns.
• Compile and submit reports daily.
• Conduct monthly stock counts and report on aging.
• Conduct timeous stock transfers to prevent buildups.

Qualifications:

• Strong numeric skills.
• Focus on accuracy and strong controls.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and available to work shifts and overtime as and when required.
• Ability to take corrective action.
• A valid Forklift Operator license will be beneficial.
