Millwright

Job Description:

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of a Millwright for its Engineering operations in the Commercial division. This position reports to the Maintenance Foreman and carries the TASK Grade T10. The successful incumbent must have 2 – 3 years’ experience in FMCG factory environment with a competency certificate as a Millwright. Knowledge and experience on VSD and PLC with a 3-phase wireman’s licence will be an added advantage. The individual would be required to work shifts, have own transport, and provide own basic hand tools needed to perform the function of a Millwright.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting preventative maintenance.
• Execution of job cards allocated.
• Accurate job card administration.
• Adherence to manufacturer’s service schedules.
• Adhere to communicated SOPs which relate to Maintenance and the operations thereof.
• Eliminate wastage through Zero (0%) reworks.
• 100% adherence to the Time and Attendance procedure and Job planning.
• Adhering to general manufacturing practices for the food environment.
• 100% compliance to the Health & Safety processes and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Millwright.
• Knowledge on FMCG equipment operation and maintenance.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Stress Tolerance.
• Flexibility and adaptability with regards to breakdowns and working hours.
