Farm Supervisor: Rearing

Job Description:

national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Farm Supervisor: Rearing for Breeders operations in the Agriculture division. The incumbent will achieve the required Rearing KPI’s that ultimately ensure that the company’s point of lay stock is of the best possible quality required. The position carries the TASK grade of T06 and reports to the Farm Manager. The ideal candidate will be in possession of a tertiary qualification in animal production or equivalent poultry science. The incumbent should be a role player contributing enormously to positive outcomes set out by the employer.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the achievement of Rearing KPIs on the facility.
• Ensure that all houses and assets are kept in perfect operating condition throughout the cycle;
• Strict adherence to standard operating procedures and biological risk control (BRC);
• Limiting and reducing all forms of wastage, through accurate management, measurement and application of consumables, feed and resources;
• Oversee and guide the maintenance effort on the farm, to achieve KPI’s;
• Ensure that the Company is not exposed to any form of risk or loss in the area under your direct supervision;
• Drive continuous improvements of activities leading to the safety of employees and company assets
• Lead, motivate and retain a dedicated, consistent and well-disciplined team of employees
• Timeously submit reports, planning schedules and data analysis reports
