Tractor Driver

Job Description:

Sovereign, a national supplier of chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Tractor Driver in the Agriculture division. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Senior Farm Manager. The Tractor Driver will ensure the efficient and timeous completion of grounds maintenance (grass cutting) per farm and collection of rubbish on farms and staff quarters. This position holds the TASK Grade of T04. The ideal candidate should be in possession of a matric certificate, tractor’s license and have 1 year’s experience.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to daily production schedule as set out by the Senior Farm Manager.
• Ensure daily maintenance checks (first parades) sheets are completed and actioned.
• Ensure that Grounds Maintenance SOP is adhered to at all times by obtaining an audit score of 90 % or more.
• Ensure that biological risk control procedures are adhered at all times and communicate abnormalities immediately to Senior Farm Manager.
• Adhere and comply with all safety requirements. Should there be any concerns report to Senior Farm Manager.
• Ensure a zero disabling accident rate by maintaining safe working practices on a daily basis, through adhering to correct speed limits, timeous maintenance checks and ensure correct usage of PPE.
• Action ad hoc projects and tasks when necessary.
