Team leader: Grasscutting

Job Description:

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Team Leader: Grasscutting for its Farm Services operations in the Agriculture division for a fixed term contract of 1 year. The Team Leader: Grasscutting will ensure the efficient and timeous preparing of Broiler facilities. This position reports to the Drycleaning Supervisor and holds the TASK Grade T06. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a grade 12 certificate or NQF level 4 equivalent and a code 10 drivers license with PDP and at least 1 year’s supervisory experience.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure waste reduction.
• Daily oversight of inspections on grass cutting machines/equipment and operator practices minimizing potential abuse, unnecessary replacements, and repairs through preventative measures and proactive interventions.
• Manage fuel, oil and other consumables within allocated budgets.
• Ensure that there is sufficient staff coverage daily to effectively and efficiently run grass grass-cutting and drycleaning operations.
• Accurately and timeously complete and submit timesheets and training records.
• Maintain a functional and efficient grass-cutting program while adhering to BRC standards and meeting production targets.
• Adhere to the daily production schedule as approved by the Dry Cleaning and Hygiene Manager and give daily feedback.
• Maintain exemplary housekeeping standards throughout the facilities, and within your grass-cutting and Dry Cleaning infrastructure and equipment.
