Relief Supervisor: Broilers

Job Description:

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Relief Supervisor for its Broiler operations in the Agriculture division. The Relief Supervisor will strive to support the farm management team by achieving the targeted broiler Key Performance Indicators. The ideal candidate will be in possession of a NQF 4 certificate (Grade 12) with 1 year’s field experience. A tertiary qualification in a field related to intensive agriculture would be advantageous. This position carries the grade of T06.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the achievement of the defined Broiler KPI’s on the facility.
• Ensure that the defined Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to and report non-conformance to the farm manager.
• Ensure that the defined Biological Risk Procedures are adhered to and that compliance scores are at 100%.
• Ensure that poultry houses and assets are kept in perfect operating condition throughout the Broiler cycle.
• Capture and submit accurate information to generate the required reports timeously.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance on the farm and strive to maintain scores >90%.
• Contribute to the skills transfer and training of all subordinates.
